31 Days of Enjoying the Everyday Life: Taking a Break

I’ll be honest. Enjoying the everyday life was tough yesterday. Yesterday was very long day that began very early with dog throw up and ended with crying. (Not mine. Although I did watch This Is Us last night, so it was a close call.)

There seems to be something about the hours between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. that makes kids crazy. If my kids happen to be having a bad day, it is an infinitely worse day between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Well, yesterday was a bad day. It doesn’t help that a cold seems to be toying with all of us; we all have the sniffles and are extra tired, but not sick enough to warrant a day-on-the-couch day. However, sometimes eight year olds don’t like to admit they are tired and need a little rest. (That is where the crying came in.)

Luckily, the schedule was empty last night, so our tired and grumpy selves got to stay home. Finally, the grumpiness began to abate a little and we all settled into the living room to put our feet up and enjoy watching The Middle together.

Sometimes a little TV break is just the thing needed to bring everyone together.
